Hello, Friend! I am so glad that you are here on my site! My name is Melinda Smith and I have been a hairstylist for 33 years. I have been a salon owner since 1998. My inspiration to be a hairstylist came from my grandfather when I was three years old. I would often comb his hair and he would pay me in pennies. This one act of kindness and not to mention positive reinforcement from him sparked an interest in me that I could make others feel good about themselves. The pennies were just an added benefit!
Being a hairstylist has never really been a job for me. Because of my passion for the beauty industry, I enjoy the creativity of it all and the opportunity to continue learning to help me serve my guests the best that I can. I have participated in many Redken classes and enjoy attending hair shows on a regular basis. I enjoy hair cutting and hair coloring the most but seek to be well rounded in my skills in order to offer my guests other services as well. I recently completed the certification for hair toppers and extensions to serve women who have the challenges of thinning hair. I, too, have those same challenges so I understand the emotional side of it all.
Through the years, I have met so many wonderful people with many becoming lifelong friends. Establishing new relationships has been one of my favorite things about my life's work. My hope is that I will get the opportunity to meet you as well and our relationship will be one that will continue
for a long time.
On the personal level, I am married to my wonderful husband, Jon Paul, and we have been married for 27 years. We have two children, Hayden (25), Lauren (23) and a son-in-law, Zach. Hayden is a graduate of MS State University with a degree in communications, lives in Nashville, Tennessee and works for the Nashville Soccer Club as a video producer, and Lauren is also a graduate of MS State with a degree in elementary education and teaches third grade at Brighton Elementary. I love spending time with my family, and they have been my biggest supporters as I pursue my dream of being the
best hairstylist I can be.
